“Basic Foundations...” was a piece presented in lecture form and with duration of approximately one hour. Presumably, in this lecture one would learn of some of the preliminary experiences that gave origin and help develop a new branch within paranormal’s science; the Parapsychology of Art. The central argument of this piece was geared towards revealing the fetishist behavior in the Art experience. In addition to the title, the piece also included a subtitle: “Autpsia del delirio” (Autopsy of delirium).
Different narrative sequences or anecdotes of which the piece was comprised were the mean used to define the main issue: the obsessive empathy experimented by subject of the experience (a third world and Caribbean artist, later turned into “Super A“ by way of a spiritual and mediumistic act) towards a noted North American artist: Laurie Anderson (Laurie AND-hER-SONgs).
-
Although tied up by a common theme, each narrative piece differed one from the other. Following are some of the titles of these individual themes:
-
a) Prologue
-
b) Explanation of the graphic that demostrates how the spiritual essence
of the tropical artist joins the essence of the American artist to produce
“Super A”.
-
c) What is more macho: Pop Art or Socialist Realism?
-
d) An experience of levitation.
-
e) Quotation of letters addressed to Laurie.
-
f) Revelation of the artistic-fetishist collection and description (according to Wilhelm Stekel) of the fetishist’s dream world.
-
g) “The one thousand and one chair”
-
h) This is not a violin, but it looks like hers.
-
i) “Hypnotic Opera”: a formula for the creation of work of arts by solely using the mind power.
-
j) “Warm spirits and cold spirits”.
-
k) A message from the Ouija. |
